Relaxation Massage

A relaxation massage is exactly what the name implies: a massage strictly for the purposes of rest  and relaxation. This massage technique is not designed for therapeutic effects of for dealing with  chronic pain or discomfort. The massage consists of the therapist applying gentle to medium  pressure of the hands to the body, gently manipulating the tissue to promote relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep connective tissue is a form of intense massage that aims to release myofascial (connective tissue) restrictions in the body, and to break up any restrictive scar tissue. It has also been known to help relieve chronic tension, to increase the body’s range of motion, to improve posture and to enhance the natural harmony of the entire body and mind. Deep connective tissue massage is also said to restore the length and flexibility to the fascia (the fiberous tissue that surrounds the muscles and organs), by normalizing the tissue and by improving the strength and overall health of the entire fascial systems.

Prenatal Massage

Therapeutic massage has been used for centuries to improve overall health, reduce stress and to  relieve muscle tension. Pregnant women have often received ambivalent responses from the health  community regarding the safety and purpose of massage during pregnancy. Modern investigation  and research is providing information that prenatal massage therapy can be a very instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care and should be given careful consideration.

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger points are areas in the tissue that refer pain elsewhere in the body, often duplicating existing symptoms. Accessing these points with direct pressure will cause a sensation to travel from that site. As the trigger point releases, the sensation should decrease, and therefore lessening the symptoms you have. This type of work is great for issues such as: headaches, low back pain, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome just to name a few.
